Step-by-step solution

  1. Turn WiFi Off and On

Click WiFi icon in menu bar
    Select "Turn Wi-Fi Off"
    Wait 10 seconds
Click WiFi icon and select "Turn Wi-Fi On"

Note: This refreshes the WiFi connection and can resolve temporary issues

  2. Forget and Rejoin Network

Remove the network from saved connections and reconnect

Hold Option and click WiFi icon
    Select "Open Wireless Diagnostics"
Go to Window menu > Utilities
    Click "Wi-Fi Scan"
Find your network and click "Delete"
    Reconnect with password

Note: Alternative: System Preferences > Network > Advanced > forget network

  3. Reset Network Settings

Go to System Preferences > Network
    Select Wi-Fi from the list
    Click "Advanced"
Remove all networks from "Preferred Networks"
    Click OK and Apply

Warning: This will remove all saved WiFi passwords

  4. Change DNS Settings

Use public DNS servers for better connectivity

    System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced
    Click "DNS" tab
Add 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google DNS)
    Click OK and Apply

Note: You can also try 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 (Cloudflare DNS)

  5. Delete WiFi Preference Files

    Remove corrupted WiFi configuration files

Open Finder and press Command + Shift + G
    Type "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/"

    Restart your Mac
